What happens to your data

Your files

They never leave your device. When you choose a file, it is read by code that is part of this page and running on your own computer or phone. It is not uploaded, not queued, not copied, and not deleted afterwards — because it was never anywhere to delete it from.

This is not a promise about what we do with your files. It is a statement that we never have them. There is no upload folder on our side, no storage bucket, and no database of documents.

How to check, rather than believe

You do not have to take our word for it, and you should not have to:

1. Open the tool you want to use and let the page finish loading.
2. Turn your internet off — flight mode on a phone, or unplug the cable.
3. Now open your file.

It still works. A site that was uploading your file could not do that.

What we do collect

Two things, and neither of them is about your documents.

Ordinary server records

Like every web server, ours records which pages were requested, when, from roughly where, and with which browser. That is how we know whether anybody is finding the site at all. It contains no file names and no file contents, because those never reach the server.

Visitor counting

The site uses Google Analytics to count visits — how many people arrived, which page they landed on, roughly which country they were in. It sets a cookie on your device to avoid counting you twice, and it is the only cookie this site sets of its own accord.

It records pages, not files. It has no way of knowing what you opened, because the file never reaches a server for anything to know about. A browser extension that blocks trackers will block it, and nothing on the site stops working if you do.

Advertising

This site is paid for by advertising, which means an advertising network places code on these pages and may set cookies on your device to decide which advert to show you. That is between you and them; their own privacy terms cover it, and your browser settings or an ad blocker control it.

We do not sell anything, we have no mailing list, there is no account to create, and nothing you type into a tool is transmitted anywhere.

Who runs this

One person. The site is not a company, has no staff, and is paid for by the advertising on it. If something here is wrong or you want something removed, there is an address on the about page.

If the rule ever changes

It will not, for the tools that exist now — they are built so that sending your file anywhere would take deliberate new work. If some future tool genuinely cannot be done on your own device, it will not be added rather than quietly becoming an upload. That is the whole idea of the site, and it is not worth one extra tool.
