How can I transfer my contacts from Android to Windows Phone?
Switching to a new phone can be time-consuming, especially when it comes to transferring contacts. It doesn’t have to be if you know where to start. In this article, we will explain how to transfer contacts from Android to Windows Phone.
The first step is to create a backup of your contacts on your Android device. You should usually find the option in the “Accounts and Sync” menu of your particular device. If it’s not there, you can also try searching the Settings.
Go to the Settings menu, then “Accounts and Sync,” and make sure the “Automatic Sync” option is checked. Doing this will create a backup of all of your contacts to the Gmail account linked to your Android device.
Once the backup is created, you’ll need to access the contacts list in Gmail. To do this, simply visit contacts.google.com and log in with the same Gmail account you used to create the backup. To check if your contacts are there, select “More” in the left menu bar, then choose “Import.”
If your contacts appear, select them all and then hit the “Export” option. When asked what format you want them in, choose .csv. This will download all of your contacts in a .csv file.
The next step is to import this .csv file into your Windows Phone. This can done by downloading the “Transfer My Data” app from the Store and then following the instructions.
After finishing the transfer process between your Android phone and Windows Phone, you should immediately double check to make sure your contacts have been properly imported. Keep in mind that some details such as contact photos may not be included in the transfer.
Once you’ve double checked the contacts have been ported, you can safely delete the .csv file off your device. That’s it. Now you know how to transfer contacts from Android to Windows Phone.
